Description: This sin mi detail shows the complexity of color and pattern that can be achieved with the ikat method. Before weaving is done, the fiber of the weft are tied with other fibers or tape to block out the fibers from dye. The weft is then dyed and redyed with each blocking out of the weft. Dye seeps into the edges of the areas that are blocked from the dye which results in the blurring effect of the ikat technique.
