Geographic Setting


Terrain: Scenic limestone formations at the northern edge of the Annamite Mountain range which divides Laos from Vietnam on its Eastern border.

History

The inhabits came from China, Red River (Nam Leng), Muong Theng, Thanh Hua, Nghe Anh, Napè. They settled in the area in 1920. The oldest person in the village named Sao Kham Kèo, Mèthao Toum Your (first girl) has been in the village for 74 years,. The French military station of Thong Pè was established afterwards.

They breed silk worms and and sell cotton and silk thread through the Federation of the Women based in Viengtiane represented in the village by the Khone Khène foundation (7 million kips every month).
